2023 Scholarship Applications Now Available; CFOV offers a wide range of scholarship opportunities | News, Sports, Jobs

The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV) has launched its 2023 scholarship applications. Application details are available on the Foundation’s website, www.cfov.org, and can be found under the Scholarships tab. The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley administers more than 70 scholarship funds. Last year, CFOV scholarship funds provided over $440,000 in financial support to over 100 students pursuing higher education of all types. Community Foundation scholarships are as unique as the establishing donor. Scholarships offered through CFOV represent memorials for loved ones, an affinity for a particular major, attendance at a particular school/university, intended career path, financial need and even being a first-generation college student. Many of the Foundation’s scholarships are housed within a comprehensive online platform. Designed to support a smooth experience for all users, the process matches applicants to available opportunities through completion of a universal application. Scholarships not housed within the online platform will have clear instructions for access or an application available for download. Additionally, information can be found in guidance offices at area high schools and college financial aid offices. While each opportunity has specific instructions, the application period for most opportunities closes February 22. Application review will then take place and recipients will be informed of awards by the end of May. Students seeking scholarships are encouraged to visit the CFOV website to explore opportunities. Questions may be directed to CFOV at 304-242-3144 or [email protected]

Thanks to the diverse generosity of donors, the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley continues to enhance the vibrancy of the Upper Ohio Valley. This is accomplished through meaningful charitable actions, strategic and initiative-driven investments, and thoughtful community leadership. With assets of $75 million, the Foundation distributed more than $3 million in grants and scholarships over the past year and provided support to projects and programs that lead to meaningful community betterment.
