The Lake County Chapter of California Women for Agriculture (CWA) is pleased to begin accepting scholarship applications from graduating high school seniors and college or vocational students now through April 7, 2023, for the 2023/2024 academic year. Scholarships may range between $500 and $2500 per award. Applicants must be pursuing a degree related to agriculture and planning to attend a two- or four-year program as a full-time student.
The Lake County Chapter of CWA is committed to promoting agriculture within Lake County through its AgVenture educational program and throughout the state by speaking with California’s state representatives about agricultural issues. Supporting students pursuing a career in agriculture is a top priority of the chapter. Since 2013 the chapter has awarded over $48,000 in scholarships to local students including $6,500 awarded in 2022.
Lake County graduating high school seniors and college or vocational students who have a grade point average of 3.0 or above are eligible to apply. Application materials must be received by CWA on or before April 7, 2023. The application and criteria are available at www.lakecountycwa.org. The Lake County Chapter of CWA (LCCWA) actively educates its members and the public about matters concerning agriculture at both the County and State levels. LCCWA awards scholarships to students pursuing agricultural-related education and provides mini-grants to teachers in local schools who are educating their students about agriculture and food.
