The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is open to Egyptian students for the 2021-2022 academic year to pursue undergraduate or master’s degrees at top US universities. It will be based on character and ability as demonstrated through academic excellence, business initiative, and extracurricular activities. Scholarships include full tuition, housing allowance, travel, and health insurance. Scholarship recipients will also be offered the option of an internship position within the company.

Preference will be given to candidates who have not been abroad for a certain period of time, have not studied or worked. The Owens Sawyer Scholarship Program is awarded only to those universities: the University of Chicago, Stanford University, Harvard University, and The University of Pennsylvania.

Eligibility Criteria for Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program

For Undergraduates:

Become an Egyptian citizen, a resident of Egypt (Dual citizenship applicants will not be preferred).
After the successful completion of his bachelor’s degree, determined to return to Egypt directly for two years.
Have not lived more than 3 years abroad.
IBT TOEFL: Maximum should be 100.
GPA 3.5 / 90% in Thanhwa amma Certification (Secondary year) or equivalent certification.

SAT Required For Onsi Sawiris Scholarship:
- Older SAT (before May 2016): Total: 2100 Reading: 700 Math: 700 Writing.
  New SAT (after May 2016): Total: 1450 Evidence-based reading and writing: 730 Mathematics
- Or SAT II: 600 or higher in 3 subjects.
  Do some extracurricular activities.

For Masters:

Become an Egyptian citizen, a resident of Egypt (Dual citizenship applicants will not be preferred).
After the successful completion of his bachelor’s degree, determined to return to Egypt directly for two years.
Have not lived more than 3 years abroad.
IBT TOEFL:
- Maximum should be 100.
GPA:
- 3.5 / good or above (overall grade)
At least three years of work experience.
MBA – GMAT: 650 or above (taken within 5 years)
Extracurricular activities are involved or are currently involved in extracurricular activities.
Older GRE scores are no longer acceptable.
New GRE Score: Minimum Acceptable:
- Overall: 302
- Analytical Writing: 4.5
Fields of study:
- Engineering, Business Administration, and Construction Management.

Important Notes For Applicant:

Candidates applying for Egyptian master’s degree in technical field will be considered.
Candidates who already have a master’s degree from a foreign university, or who have an Egyptian master’s degree in the same field, are not applying.
Onsi Sawiris does not guarantee university approval as a nominee for the scholarship program. Applicants will only be able to apply for the following approved universities. If nominated for a scholarship, the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program Award will be given upon approval by the University.
Preference will be given to candidates who do not live, work or study abroad for a certain period of time due to lack of income.
The Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program is awarded only to a list of approved universities.
