Key Information | Applicants in receipt of the regional scholarship cannot be awarded a Global Excellence scholarship in addition. Applicants in receipt of a regional scholarship are unable to apply for the Global Citizenship Scholarship, only one award can be applied. Applicants who can receive any of the above Regional Scholarships may also be eligible for other funding such as: The University of Dundee Alumni Scholarship at £3,000 (if criteria met). This would have a combined scholarship total of £8,000. External scholarship, not funded by the University of Dundee (this also includes joint funded scholarships), however, the total of both scholarships combined cannot exceed the total yearly tuition fee. If an applicant has an external scholarship that covers the full tuition fee, then they are no longer eligible to receive a regional scholarship. The University will not pay any money directly to the applicant and the award cannot be transferred. If an applicant has an external sponsor who covers the full tuition fee, we can award a regional Scholarship and the sponsor will be billed the net total (minus the scholarship awarded). If the sponsor will not accept a reduced tuition fee with the scholarship applied, then the regional scholarship will not be awarded to the applicant. The University will not pay any money directly to the applicant and the award cannot be transferred. All communication with the student will be via email and to their @dundee.ac.uk email address. We may also communicate with other email addresses provided to us by the applicant. If an applicant has funded as part of a partnership agreement, then they cannot hold a regional award in addition to this. The higher value award will apply. If an applicant chooses to defer their entry within the same academic year, we may be able to defer the scholarship award. However, this may not apply if the applicant chooses to defer to the following academic year. We will confirm with all applicants who defer, the status of their scholarship. If an applicant has paid their tuition fees in full before being awarded a regional Scholarship, the value of the scholarship will be refunded to the applicant after they have enrolled at the University of Dundee. The scholarship is only awarded in the years in which full fees (£18,950 and above) are paid to the University. For postgraduate taught programs, this can be 1 year or 2 for some specialist programs. If a student re-sits a year of study at the university, the scholarship award will not apply, however, will commence once they have progressed to the next level. Applicants from non-graduating years at the university are not eligible for the Scholarship. The University of Dundee will not backdate any awards and all awards made will be current and apply to the applicant in the current academic year.
